Glossary of Terms

Adjustments

The educational supports, interventions, or modifications mapped out to support a student's inclusion and participation. These can be tracked by session frequency, length, assigned budget or staff, and implementation effectiveness. In some regions, these are referred to as provisions.      

Adjustment Reviews

An Adjustment Review is a structured evaluation process using the Goal Attainment Score. It is used by educators to measure and document the effectiveness of applied adjustments or interventions in meeting student needs. It allows schools to determine whether support strategies are working and provides evidence of ongoing monitoring for compliance and reporting.

Audit Trail

A detailed log that records every action taken within the system—such as creating, editing, or sharing a plan—complete with timestamps and user attribution. This supports robust record-keeping and compliance for government audits.

Confidentiality

A setting used to protect sensitive student information by hiding resources from other users by default. Authorised access is managed by school administrators; users without permission may see a confidential plan marked with an unselectable padlock icon.

External Agency

A third-party organisation or consultant that collaborates with a school. Schools can securely share specific learning plans with these agencies using unique sharing codes and controlled permission levels.

Goal Attainment Scale (GAS)

A simple five-point scale used to review student progress and measure the impact of interventions. Outcomes are rated from -2 (much less than expected) to +2 (much more than expected) to allow comparison across students with different starting points.

Learning Plan / Individual Education Plan (IEP)
A unique, central digital document tailored to a specific student’s needs that outlines their learning support stage, associated teachers, targets, strategies, adjustments, and review dates. These plans centralise evidence and outcomes into a single, easily accessible hub.

Learning Plan Review
A Learning Plan Review is the process of evaluating the effectiveness of a student's learning plan and tracking progress over time using the Goal Attainment Score. Reviews feed the audit trail and help maintain accurate records and staff accountability.

NCCD (Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability)
An annual Australian government process to identify students receiving educational adjustments due to disability. Learning Pathways includes functionality to track adjustment levels and categories to support compliance and funding access.

Reporting
The Reports section enables schools to generate various reports to capture and collate learning support data efficiently.

Parental (Parent Accounts)

Linked parent accounts for targeted read-only sharing, parent contributions/messages/signatures and control over parent access windows.

School Robin

An automated information‑gathering and communication feature that allows coordinators and staff to quickly request and receive anecdotal evidence or progress updates from multiple subject teachers, centralising responses and linking records to student profiles.

Student Passport

A fully customisable, single-page summary written in partnership with the student (and/or parents). It captures the student's needs, strengths, interests, triggers, goals, and classroom strategies to share with staff.

Student Profiles
A centralised hub for managing all learning support data related to an individual student.

Targets

Targets are the specific, measurable outcomes in a student’s learning plan that define how an identified area of need will be addressed; they are evaluated alongside success criteria and strategies & adjustments during reviews. The system provides a library of ready-made targets to help standardise IEP quality.

Template

A standardised structure used to control the information and sections displayed within a learning plan or workflow. Templates allow schools to personalise their approach while ensuring consistency and data reliability.

Wonde

A secure cloud-based API platform that acts as a bridge between Learning Pathways and a school’s Student Information System (SIS/MIS), allowing seamless, real-time syncing of student and staff data without manual entry.

Workflow

A multi-stage process (maximum of seven stages) used to document a sequence of actions staff complete—often required before a learning plan can be formally assigned to a student.
